Chapter 75: AL-QIYAMA (THE RISING OF THE DEAD) - Translation

|
| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | no! i swear by the day of resurrection, (1) | | لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ﴿1﴾ | no! i swear by the reproachful soul! (2) | | وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ ﴿2﴾ | what, does the human think we shall never gather his bones? (3) | | أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَلَّن نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ ﴿3﴾ | indeed yes, we are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! (4) | | بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ ﴿4﴾ | rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, (5) | | بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ ﴿5﴾ | 'when will the day of resurrection be? ' he asks, (6) | | يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ ﴿6﴾ | but when the sight is dazed (7) | | فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ ﴿7﴾ | and the moon eclipsed, (8) | | وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ ﴿8﴾ | when the sun and moon are gathered together (9) | | وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ ﴿9﴾ | on that day the human will ask: 'to (which place) shall i flee? ' (10) | | يَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ ﴿10﴾ |
